More About Cassey

Owner states:

Cassey is a lovely dog but her needs are not being met due to work schedules and she will run off in search of company with neighbours. She has no desire to work and will sit and watch the sheep and cows, she sleeps with cats in her barn.

She was not well socialised in her early years due to covid and lived on a farm at that time. She has been to doggy day care and with appropriate intros should be fine. Owner states she has no recall and if she decides she going somewhere she will do just that.

Cassey will bark when excited and chases helicopters flying in the sky. She is ball obsessed and has growled when a ball has been taken from her, this would need careful handling to avoid escalation to a nip. She is a vehicle chaser. She is not used to children but is good when the grandchildren visit.

Assessor states:

Cassey is a sweet, friendly, wiggly girl who jumps up for attention the whole time. She is curious and excited, whilst she doesn’t tolerate other dogs near her toys she doesn’t seem to show any food guarding from people.

She walked fairly well on a flat lead, not loose lead but wasn’t full on pulling. Whilst she is not great with most dogs she loves the assessors well behaved male Kelpie. She doesn’t look for trouble but doesn’t want them in her space or near her things.

She spends her days in the barn and will bark for long periods and has dug under the fence to escape on the past.

We feel with the right input, time and patience Cassey could blossom into a loving companion.
